Rowthorne is located about 1km south of the A617 Chesterfield to Mansfield road at Glapwell, and about 2km from Ault Hucknall.

CAR: there is usually no difficulty in parking near the Well Dressing.

BUS: the nearest regular bus service is at Glapwell (about 1km): Mondays to Saturdays: 3 per hour from Chesterfield and Mansfield; 2 per hour from Nottingham; hourly from Sheffield, Meadowhall, Williamthorpe and Bolsover; every 2 hours from Crystal Peaks. Sundays: at least every hour from Chesterfield, Mansfield and Nottingham; every 2 hours from Sheffield and Meadowhall.
