How to get there

Matlock is located on the A6 between Derby and Bakewell.

CAR: usually possible to park near the Church on Smedley Street.

BUS: Mondays to Saturdays: at least 2 per hour from Bakewell, Derby, Sheffield and Wirksworth; at least hourly from Buxton and Chesterfield; every 2 hours from Alfreton and Ripley; 5 services per day from Clay Cross; 4 services per day from Manchester. Sundays: at least 2 per hour from Sheffield; at least hourly from Bakewell, Buxton, Derby, Chesterfield and Nottingham; at least every 2 hours from Alfreton; 4 services per day from Manchester; 5 services per day from Wirksworth.

TIP: if arriving by public transport, All Saints Church is only a short distance from the town centre but quite steeply uphill. Those who have difficulty walking may wish to take advantage of local bus services which serve Smedley Street at least every hour on Mondays to Saturdays.
